CPM Brings Biometric “Tap & Go” Payments to Cat Linh – Ha Dong Metro

Hanoi, December 5, 2025 – At Cat Linh Station, Hanoi Metro One Member Limited Liability Company (Hanoi Metro) officially held a launch ceremony announcing the implementation of a next-generation Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system, integrating advanced features such as digital identification, electronic authentication, biometric recognition, and cashless payment.

The rollout of the “Tap to Ride” solution on Metro Line 2A Cat Linh – Ha Dong was conducted in accordance with Plan No. 428 and Decision No. 5316 issued by the Hanoi People’s Committee.

Technological Breakthrough and Digital Transformation Objectives

The event was attended by senior leaders, including H.E. Marc E. Knapper, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Vietnam; Mr. Truong Viet Dung, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee; along with representatives from ministries, departments, and strategic partners.

The AFC system has been comprehensively upgraded, integrating with the National Digital Identification and Authentication Platform (RAR/C06) and synchronizing ticketing data with VNeID. At the same time, Hanoi Metro, in collaboration with Visa, launched an electronic ticketing application that supports cashless bank card payments under the “Tap & Go” model at fare gates—delivering a fast, seamless, and convenient passenger experience.

According to Hanoi Metro representatives, after nearly two months of pilot operation as of November 15, 2025, the program recorded 70,987 registered users and 344,014 passenger trips, with the majority of feedback being positive—demonstrating the effectiveness of digital technology in public transport operations.

CPM Vietnam: POSM Installation Expert Supporting a Landmark Project

As a strategic implementation partner, CPM Vietnam successfully completed the installation of specialized POSM (Point of Sale Materials) to support both communication activities and the operation of the new payment system.

CPM’s deployment scope covered all 12 stations along the Cat Linh – Ha Dong Line: Cat Linh, La Thanh, Thai Ha, Lang, Thuong Dinh, Ring Road 3, Phung Khoang, Van Quan, Ha Dong, La Khe, Van Khe, and Yen Nghia.

The specialized POSM items were installed at key touchpoints such as train exteriors, card-tapping pillars, escalator areas, stairways, and elevators, maximizing visibility and effectively guiding passengers in using the new services.
